Goal progress: Checking Progress Without Forgetting the Deadline
Goal progress shows the funded share of a target. It is useful for a savings dashboard, but the same percentage can be comfortable or urgent depending on time remaining.
Use the Goal progress Calculator to enter your own figures and compare the result with the worked example below.
Goal progress formula
Progress (%) = Current amount ÷ Target amount × 100
Worked example
| Item | Example value |
|---|---|
| Current amount | 2500 USD |
| Target | 10000 USD |
| Goal progress | 25% |
These are illustrative inputs, not current prices, rates or recommended targets. Where a currency is shown, keep all comparable money amounts in the same currency; conversion examples identify the two sides separately.
How to interpret the result
Update the target if the expected purchase cost changes. Pair progress with a required monthly contribution to check the pace.
