Revenue: Connecting Sales Volume and Price to Revenue
Units sold multiplied by selling price gives a simple revenue estimate. It separates the effect of selling more units from charging more for each one.
Use the Revenue Calculator to enter your own figures and compare the result with the worked example below.
Revenue formula
Revenue = Units sold × Selling price per unit
Worked example
| Item | Example value |
|---|---|
| Units sold | 100 units |
| Price per unit | 20 USD |
| Revenue | 2,000 USD |
These are illustrative inputs, not current prices, rates or recommended targets. Where a currency is shown, keep all comparable money amounts in the same currency; conversion examples identify the two sides separately.
How to interpret the result
This one-price model may need separate calculations for multiple products. Discounts, returns and sales-tax treatment should be handled consistently.
